Sadly, in our high schools and colleges these days one of the most important topics and skillsets is left out from the teaching curriculum…financial literacy and education. (at least in the United States)
And that’s terrible, since life pretty much runs on money.
And although money may not make you happy…it certainly does help.
Luckily, there are some great teachers and courses out there but it’s really up to you to go out and find and discover and sift through all the books and courses and live seminars, etc. to find the ones that make the most sense and give you that crucial information that everyone really needs to succeed in life.
See, if you can master money, life sure gets a whole lot easier and a lot more fun.
Now, if you want to do it the hard way, you can go out there and read every book known to man on the subject about personal finance…but my goal here is to save you time and money.
So, I’m going to recommend a few resources that I’ve found to be super helpful in providing a simple and solid foundation in managing your personal finances and budgets.
A great book by Dave is Total Money Makeover.
And if you’re a big visual learner like me, I would go ahead and pick up the DVD box set of his live Financial Peace University training as well.
Those two resources alone should give you a very solid and clear understanding of money, budgeting, personal finance, etc. and really give you the confidence moving forward to not get taken advantage of later down the road with things like credit cards and unnecessary debt.
