If you ask any online marketer what is the #1 most important thing you should be doing right now if you want to build a sustainable online business, they’ll all tell you “build an email list”.
Unfortunately that advice is a little vague but I’m sure at some point you figured out that you would need an autoresponder. An autoresponder is the way you store all the contacts of your list and communicate with them, so it’s basically the heart of your online business. So, you definitely need to choose wisely.
Now, there are dozens of autoresponder companies out there, but the ones I recommend have to not only be good and well-respected, but they also need to integrate with the majority of popular tools, services and plugins that internet marketers use to build their email list like LeadPages and Clickfunnels.
Two of the most popular autoresponders across the board are iContact and ConvertKit. And, while there’s nothing wrong with either one of them, I now recommend a different solution, mainly because the interface is just so easy to use.
All autoresponders pretty much do the same things, and there is actually a lot of automation you can do with them other than just sending out simple email broadcasts and basic autoresponder sequences, but unfortunately there aren’t a lot of autoresponder training courses out there to educate marketers on how to use all their features, so most people are stuck trying to figure out all that they can do with them, or just never wind up taking full advantage of all the features their autoresponder has simply because they don’t know they exist.
ConvertKit solves this. Because it allows you to easily setup complex automation rules, such as adding subscribers to a special segmented list, based on what emails they open and click. Plus it’s got a ton of other features.
So, again, while there is nothing wrong with iContact, if you are a complete beginner at building an email list, and really want to take full advantage of all the power an autoresponder has to offer (with ease), I would recommend starting off with ConvertKit, and then if you want to setup an account with other solutions like AWeber or GetResponse, you can do that later as well, since most all of them offer some sort of free trial.
