Although it may seem unsexy on the surface, reading books is actually one of the best and fastest ways to acquire knowledge and wisdom.
Why?
Well, because basically someone sat down and put sometimes their entire life’s work and ideas and insights into 200-300 pages…and is offering it to you generally for less than $20…
But even then…if you’re broke and don’t have money to invest in new books (or even used ones if you’re really broke) it can be kind of frustrating.
Luckily there is a pretty cool system and network that not a lot of people actually know about that enables you to get access to new and popular books for either free or just a few dollars.
And that program is called Interlibrary Loan.
Basically what it is is a HUGE network among public libraries and libraries at universities that allow you to borrow almost any book you want.
You see, even though your library probably has a lot of books in it, it doesn’t have them all.
But in most cases, within the HUGE Interlibrary Loan network some school or city does.
The only drawback is that you may have to wait a little while to receive your book or get on a waitlist to read it since the books typically have to be shipped and travel in between libraries within your town or even different cities and states.
But, hey…for FREE…you can’t beat that.
So, if you’re an avid reader or you would like to start acquiring knowledge and wisdom more rapidly, without having to buy and store the books yourself, check out Interlibrary Loan in your local town or at your university.
