Threadless.com was WAY before it’s time in my opinion…WAY before it’s time.
And here’s why…
They basically pioneered the concept of crowdsourcing and crowdfunding, and print on-demand as well as online marketplaces (at least for t-shirts) WAY before other similar solutions ever came along…so they had a mega head start on all the competition.
Threadless isĀ an incredible place to pick up unique t-shirts with incredible designs, and it looks like they’ve evolved quite a bit. The way it used to work with their designs, is they only way they would print designs is you as the designer would make submissions, then the community would vote on them, and if your design got enough votes, then they’d print it and make them for sale on their site.
Now, it looks they finally have given you the option to create your own “Threadless store” and sell your designs that way and make money.
So, if you’re a designer, looking to cash in on some of your incredible artwork, certainly consider opening up your own apparel store.
Additionally, as a way to scale, you can create multiple stores across multiple other apparel marketplaces such as the ones listed below…
Redbubble
Zazzle
Printful
TeePublic
Cafepress
Spreadshirt
